			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many marketers are looking for work these days. Some agencies might have a little trouble picking the right person because, well, they’re hiring a marketer. In this post, Paul Dunay suggests employers look past the interview and resume. With a large part of marketing moving into the social media atmosphere, agencies should value people with a significant online presence. Someone who can attract thousands of people to their personal blog has proven themselves not only to be savvy, but also genuinely interested in the new tools available to the industry.</p>

No surprise there, but the cuts aren’t all around. $2.4 billion is expected to be spent on social media network advertising in 2009, up 17% from last year. Small start-ups are hiring because they have the agility to make snap reactions to the shift. BzzAgent, WOMMA Governing member, has recently invested in social media and WOM by producing a collection of interactive websites that focus on specific brands. Everyday the need to get involved grows for every marketer out there because the old tricks aren’t working like they once did.</p>
