Facebook released an academic-quality study on how their users behave within blue beast. It analyzed 250 million users and how they shared 75 million links over two months. Brian Reid at WCG picked out the 5 mind popping facts from the study:
1. Users are 7 times more likely to share a link if their friends shared it. It’s 0.191% for friends’ links and 0.025 for general links.
2. One out of every 12.5 clicks leads to a share. Fewer than 3% of all links get clicked.
3. The median time for someone to share a friend’s link is 6 hours – The news cycle has a bit more longevity than many thought.
