Social media wonks worldwide have been tooling around with Google+ for a few weeks now. Brands aren’t allowed to post their own pages…yet. So, Facebook beware. But other social networks should mind their space too. Expect geo-location capabilities to rival Foursquare and questions to rival Quora.

While we wait, try these three tips to start drumming up ideas for your brand or client:

1. Monitor – A lot of people have joined Google+. Log in. Find your favorite bloggers, thinkers and doers. And see how they’re using it.

2. Target – Circles makes targeting very easy. It’s hard to say exactly how Circles will play out on brand pages, but getting used to them on your personal page is the best way to prepare.

3. Experiment - One of the fun things about Google+ is that we all have a clean slate. Nobody’s an expert yet. Get on and play around.
