The Internet rocked the traditional media establishment. It was like there was an entirely new printing press. Though all the media outlets eventually adapted to the change, there is still a tenuous relationship. Some are hoping tablet computers may be the saving grace of traditional media. The Kindle and like have risen in popularity and show signs of changing the type of media users consume (see yesterday’s Word article: New Media Savvy). Apple plans on unveiling their iSlate tablet computer on Jan 27. In the coming months, we should all keep an eye on how traditional publishers adapt to this new tool. Perhaps they have learned a lesson from their mistakes during the Internet boom.

I feel tablet computers will fit into our media smogasboard. They were a big feature of CES. I feel CISCO will move into flip video even more and tablet will have rich media with text including video and other sources.

Thanks for the comment Dara! A lot of people are talking about tablet computers. If they truly hit the mark, we will see these everywhere. This year will certainly be interesting for marketers.
