Up and coming musicians have a variety of tools at their disposal for social media dispersal; MySpace and the inline audio flash player as a prime example. But we’d like to highlight a pick from MGH WOM: Buzznet.
Buzznet is a great resource because it has shifted the paradigm of musicians’ social media from individual pages to a community atmosphere. Buzznet feels more like an issue of Rolling Stone than it does a site of individual profiles, and you find yourself browsing for concerts or genres, not individual band pages.
MGH WOM has highlited its top 4 features of Buzznet, and we’d like to show these to you:
BUZZ - Buzznet has a social voting feature built into the site. Any piece of content posted by someone on the site can be voted up, or “buzzed”.
Concerts - The concert section of Buzznet lets you search for concerts by your favorite band or location.
Community - The community gives you constant live updates of what is going on at the site.
Buzznet Player - Of course a music community would have an awesome music player.
