WOMMA Councils

Influencer & Advocacy Marketing Council

The Council is comprised of marketers from WOMMA member companies who will lead and shape the conversation on best practices for influencer, advocacy, and social media marketing.

Overall Role and Responsibilities

  • Drive value to WOMMA members through content, networking, education, and sharing of best practices.
  • Provide a community for members to gain the most value from their membership and drive positive WOM.
  • Serve as a sounding board for WOMMA, by providing insights and recommendations for topics, brands, and business issues facing members.
  • Provide opportunities for Brands-Only roundtable discussions and special initiatives to foster a private community for a target group of brands who wish to participate.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Produce industry guidance, white papers, alerts when appropriate.
  • Provide networking and educational opportunities for WOMMA members.
  • Plan and execute an educational webinar series focused on key influencer and advocacy marketing topics to provide professional development, build trust and credibility as industry leaders, and drive year-round membership value.

Research & Measurement Council

The Research & Measurement Council is responsible for developing and carrying out original research, programs and tools that engage marketers and create understanding of the importance of integrating metrics and measurement into word of mouth and social media marketing campaigns.

Overall Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and carry out original research, programs and tool that engage marketers and create understandings of the importance of integrating metrics and measurements into word of mouth and social media marketing campaigns.
  • Provide educational and programming guidance for TALK360 | The WOMMA Summit.
  • Share best practices for reporting standardized campaign metrics for WOMMY Awards submissions.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Recommend best practices for research and measurement.
  • Produce industry guidance, white papers, alerts when appropriate.
  • Provide networking and educational opportunities for applicable WOMMA members.
  • Support WOMMA’s research activities.

Ethics & Legal Council

The Ethics & Legal Council is composed of representatives from member companies who have responsibility over advertising, marketing practices, or regulatory affairs of the company.

Overall Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide education, resources and thought leadership to help marketers learn and use best practices to build and sustain consumer trust and avoid the need for regulatory action.
  • Share best practices on emerging trends related to compliance and ethics challenges, and collaborate on special projects for the industry.
  • Review WOMMA's Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct annually to ensure WOMMA and its members stay on the leading edge of ethical marketing best practices.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Recommend best practices for ethical engagement and legal compliance in word of mouth, influencer, advocacy, native content and any other form of social media marketing.
  • Drive value to WOMMA members by educating and keeping them informed about important legal and regulatory trends that could impact their business activities.
  • Provide guidance in navigating the ever-changing legal and regulatory landscape.
  • Produce thought leadership, contribute to WOMMA training and certification programs, host educational webinars, and showcase WOMMA’s leadership position in the areas of ethics and compliance.
