WOMMA has created the Higher Education Council to help you, your team, and staff in other areas on campus use social media to its best advantage. Participation in the council will give you tools and tips for creating a more strategic, integrated approach to social media, which can help you make the most of limited resources, and also get everyone on campus moving in the same direction.
The Higher Education Council will provide monthly educational events, usually via webinar or teleconference based on topics you and the Council develop.
Want to serve on the Higher Education Council and help develop
education for this group? Fill out the Participation Form.
1. How can you leverage social media in a slow, decentralized environment like higher education?
  • Word of mouth marketing and social media are moving so fast that it may feel like by the time you really learn how to use one tactic like Twitter, the world has moved to another like StatusNet. The Higher Education Council will teach you how to use these tools effectively, even when they change so quickly.
2. How do you generate an effective WOM program, given the dynamics of higher education with:
  • Multiple audiences
• Multiple objectives
• A decentralized structure
3. How do you identify resources to do WOM within a higher education environment?
The Higher Education Council will approach these topics and many more to help you learn about the resources you need, develop your pilot program, and sell the program internally. Education will launch January 2010. Check back for the updated calendar of events.
