			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-1594" style="padding: 5px 30px;" title="google" src="http://womma.org/events/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/BARKLEY.jpg" alt="Barkley" width="82" />The Millennial generation (16-34 y.o) has been analyzed and scrutinized, but rarely has it been thought of as more than a homogenous group of highly connected, digitally savvy youth. While true, the nuanced differences between the members of this generation deserve the attention of all brand marketers. Why? It’s in the awareness and respect for those distinctions that the true engagement occurs. This presentation will explore those distinctions. Barkley, in partnership with Boston Consulting Group and SMG, surveyed over 4,000 American Millennials and 1,000 non-Millennials to uncover the truth about this elusive consumer. How do Millennials interact with brands? Where do they eat and shop? How are they making buying decisions, and what factors influence their opinions and choices? From the research findings (more than four million data points!), Barkley uncovered distinctions between Millennials and non-Millennials that aren’t explained simply by their differences in life stage. Topics studied include: behaviors and attitudes about food and restaurants, shopping habits, social customs, media usage and travel choices. Also, the presenter will discuss how Millennials feel about nonprofits and corporations that partner with them, volunteer efforts and the state of the world in general.</p>
<p><strong>Takeaways:</strong></p>
<p>1. The audience will learn that the Millennials are multi-faceted, yet still share common features unique to their generation. The six segments of Millennials, as defined by our research, will be described.</p>
<p>2. Audience members will find out what the Millennial generation thinks of cause marketing and businesses that support causes, and how their volunteer efforts differ from older generations.</p>
<p>3. The presentation will explain the term, “Participation economy,” and why all brand marketers must break out of the old marketing mindset and instead think in terms of engagement and co-creation.</p>

<p>Crowdsourcing video offers a new approach for telling your brand’s story.  A practice that’s proven effective for generating high-quality advertising content, crowdsourcing can also be used to discover the inspirational storytellers in your brand’s community and the authentic stories that define your brand’s experience. <p>WOMMA is looking for hosts to take the conversation offline in 2012. WOMMA Wine Wednesday is designed to bring WOM and Social Media enthusiasts together to meet, drink, and learn.</p>
<p>WOMMA members have the exclusive opportunity to host a networking event in their city.  You get to show off your cool digs, promote your company, and meet your fellow WOM enthusiasts.</p>
<p>WOMMA is looking for hosts in every area of the country &#8212; the only stipulation is it’s held on a Wednesday.  We encourage hosts to invite business associates, members and non-members.  WOMMA will get the word out, we just need you to play host.</p>
<p><strong>As the host, you will be responsible for:</strong><br />
- Securing a venue<br />
- Coordinate registration on site<br />
- Secure food &amp; beverage… Wine, of course<br />
- Promote your Wine Wednesday – blog, social channels, website, etc.<br />
- Provide suggestions on “hot topic” and speakers</p>
<p><strong>WOMMA will:</strong><br />
- Process registration<br />
- Market and promote the event – website, social channels, WOMMA Word<br />
- Secure education “hot topics” and speakers<br />
- Provide host with WOMMA promotional items as necessary</p>
<p><strong>Hot Topic:</strong><br />
The industry is moving so rapidly that people are always looking for the answers.  We suggest at least a 20 minutes of discussion during the event.  It can be a single presenter or panel.</p>
