How the Toolkit Works

WOMMA's Ethics Adoption Toolkit includes a complete collection of sample documents, contracts, and letters to help companies build their word of mouth ethics programs. Each of the templates within the toolkit is designed to be customized for companies' unique needs and circumstances.

Using the toolkit is easy:

  1. Contact WOMMA. Before implementing your ethics program, contact WOMMA for advice and guidance to get you started.
  2. Create your ethics policy. Once you've decided to embrace the WOMMA Ethics Code, browse the Ethics Adoption Toolkit for the documents you'll need to create, announce, and publicize your commitment.
  3. Seek internal buy-in. Approach your company's decision makers to get them on board with your commitment. The Ethics Adoption Toolkit includes a series of PowerPoint presentations and business cases to help you make the internal sell.
  4. Announce your program internally. Get your entire company on board with formal letters, presentations, and more that will educate your peers about your commitment to word of mouth ethics. Sample documents can be found inside the Ethics Adoption Toolkit at www.womma.org/adoption.
  5. Announce your program publicly. Use the sample press release, website statement, etc., within the Ethics Adoption Toolkit to publicly announce your company's commitment to word of mouth ethics.
  6. Get vendors on board. Reach out to each of your vendors and agencies with the notices and contracts included in the Ethics Adoption Toolkit. While many companies are requiring vendors to commit to the WOMMA Ethics Code, all should include their vendors and agencies in their efforts to educate their organization on word of mouth ethics.
  7. Recognize your ethics commitment. To acknowledge your contribution to word of mouth ethics, WOMMA will provide all companies that formally adopt its Ethics Code with an Ethics stamp that they can publish on their website and other documents.
  8. Share your tools. Once your company has completed its ethics adoption, WOMMA invites you to submit your own customized documents for inclusion in our collaborative ethics library, where other word of mouth marketers can view them in order to learn from you and follow your example.
